"The timing couldn’t have been better for the world premiere of Anne Gyrithe Boone’s inspiring and fascinating documentary about Burmese pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi – just as the film had its first screenings it was announced that she had been released after many years of house arrest and was poised to take her place on the world stage once again".  Read more (PDF)

"Der er store skæbner i vores tid, som vi glemmer. Det burmesiske ikon Aung San Su Kyi er en af dem. Et demokratisk stilikon med verdenshistorisk fylde (...)se Anne Gyrithe Bonnes voldsomme og sarte portrætfilm ”Aung San Suu Kyi – Lady of no fear”. Filmen dokumenterer den store menneskelige omkostning det er at give sit liv for demokratiet. At give sit liv for friheden". Læs mere

Translated excerpts from blog:

"During the documentary film festival in Copenhagen, Anne Gyrithe Bonne's powerful and sensitive film portrayal: 'Aung San Suu Kyi - Lady of No  Fear' was released to the public. The film shows the immense human cost of  giving one's life for democracy. Of giving one's life for freedom. For Aung San Suu Kyi, the cost has meant relinquishing her family and living in Burma for twenty years without her English husband and two boys.

Art has no boundaries. A documentary can be great art, when as in this case it succeeds in exposing the acute pain felt by any human being in making major life decisions. Everything has a price, but some pay a higher prices for their choices than others. Since time immemorial, people have relied on those who have had the courage not to be afraid, not to be afraid of brutalrulers. And not to be afraid to make choices that make those closest  to you unhappy. Aung San Suu Kyi deserves all the merit she can get. She deserves that her life choice shall not have been in vain".
